Comments about translations for the website
"In 2012, Sierck-les-Bains Town Council created three heritage trails in the town centre, called "Sierck-les-Bains, a place to live", "Sierck-les-Bains, a fortified town" and "Sierck-les-Bains, the spiritual." The project aimed at highlighting the town’s main remarkable places and buildings, to help tourists discover them and raise local residents' awareness to the town’s rich heritage.
We created 40 enameled, lava-stone plaques including a booklet for the trail and a website.
The Town Council wanted to translate the trail into English and German, so that German, Luxembourgish and English tourists could also enjoy the trail.
The English translation was completed by Helen Hammond, who is a native British speaker. She also teaches English at a secondary school, in France.
She delivered a fluent and accurate translation, which complies with English typographic conventions. The style she used was appropriate for the target audience and kept to the deadlines we set. She ensured consistent quality throughout, despite the occasional use of technical vocabulary."
